The WW Jones Cookout is scheduled for May 13, 2023, at the Milledgeville Georgia War Veterans Home from 9:30 am to around 2 pm.
The address is 2249 Vinson Hwy, Milledgeville, GA 31061.
This is an annual department level event where we host a cookout to feed the veterans staying there. All Posts and their Auxiliaries are encouraged to participate.
Volunteers are needed to help with the setup, bring down the veterans to the outside pavilion, serve the food, and help with the cleanup. PSC Dick Dickens and his helpers will be preparing the meat and baked beans.
We need Districts and Posts to help with coleslaw, individually wrapped desserts (i.e., Debbie cakes, oatmeal cakes and cookies, etc.), paper products, plastic cups and eating utensils. We are also in need of ice and coolers to put the ice in.
The 7th District is providing the drinks. If your District or Post can prepare or provide any of these items, please let Adjutant Tony Dobbins know. Please prepare enough food for 175 veterans.
This is a great event, and the veterans look forward to this annual cookout. Please contact Tony if you are planning to attend.
