MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
2020-2021
•Grow Membership - In determining the All-State team, Department of Georgia posts will be divided into the following divisions. Divisions are based on Post strength at the end of the 2019-2020 membership year.

Posts
that did not attain at least 100% for membership in the 2019-2020 year must
attain the membership percentage for their division AND make up at least 50% of
the membership deficit from the 2019-2020 membership year.

Participate
in Department/District recruiting events in your area
·
Submit
an entry for judging in three of the four core programs. (Donations made
towards All-American DO NOT count for All-State consideration.)

Voice of Democracy
o
Patriot's Pen
o
Smart/Maher Citizenship Education Teacher
Award (at least one of the three categories)
o
Public Safety (at least one of the three
categories)
(NOTE: Only Voice of Democracy and Patriots Pen
are required for All American Consideration. Please see the All-American
Requirements for additional information).
- Make donations to all three (3) of these
programs. Minimum donations are set by division. These divisions are
established exclusively for Georgia. Divisions are based on Post strength at
the end of the 2019-2020 membership year.
o Veterans and Military Support (VMS),
o VFW National Home for Children (Georgia
House),
o Commander's Special Project.

Note: there is no maximum cap on donations.
•Attend District Meetings. Post Commander (or Post Sr Vice Commander or Post Jr Vice Commander) attend all District meetings (see Section 218(a)(1)k of the VFW National Bylaws)
•Post Commander (or Post Sr Vice Commander or Post Jr Vice Commander) and Quartermaster attend all sessions of Georgia Leadership Training (GLT). Bonus points for additional members.
•Post Quartermaster and any other officer who has access to post funds are sufficiently bonded by August 31, 2020 in accordance with Section 703 of the National Bylaws for the current membership year.
•Post Service Officer must attend the VFW sponsored Service Officer Training School.
•Submit all Trustee Reports of Audit to the State Headquarters by the listed dates:
o1st by July 31, 2020
o2nd by October 31, 2020
o3rd by January 31, 2021
o4th by April 30, 2021
•Consistently submit reports in Community Service, Americanism, Safety and Hospital programs throughout the year.
•Purchase five (5) Buddy Poppies per member before April 30, 2021. (Minimum order is 500).
•Conduct and report at least one (1) Buddy Poppy drive before April 30, 2021.
•Be current/paid up on all Department and District obligations.
•Resolve all outstanding actions (notes at the bottom of the page) from the Post Inspection form.
•Participate in the Department fundraiser by selling/purchasing at least 1 ticket for each 5 members. You are welcome to sell/purchase more.
OPTIONAL BUT HIGHLY ENCOURAGED
•Recognize a Scout of the Year at your Post and submit that Scout to the Department.
•Donate to the Department Disaster Relief program.
•Donate to the National Desert Storm Memorial (see page in this book). Funds will be matched by Department up to $10,000.
Consistently submit reports
for the Youth Activities programs throughout the year.
